Privacy policy

This policy explains what Good Standing Media (goodstandingmedia.com) collects when you read it, and what we do with it. Good Standing Media is published by Good Standing Media. Effective October 26, 2026.

The short version

You can read everything here without an account. We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising. We keep server logs, we use Google Analytics to count visits, and we read the email you send us.

What we collect

Server logs. Like every website, our hosting records each request: the page asked for, the time, the IP address, the browser's user agent and the page that linked here. We use these to keep the site running and secure. Our hosting provider keeps them for a limited time under its own policy.

AI crawler counts. When a known AI crawler (for example GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot) fetches a page, we record which crawler, which page and when. These are automated agents, not people. We publish nothing about individual readers from this.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Google sets cookies for this and processes the data under its own terms. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. You can block analytics with a browser setting or an extension and the site works the same.

Email. If you write to hello@goodstandingmedia.com or any other address at goodstandingmedia.com, we keep the message so we can reply and keep a record of corrections. Mail to our domains is forwarded to a mailbox run by Good Standing Media.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not show targeted advertising. We do not ask you to create an account or share personal details to read the site.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from another. The site sets no other cookies. Blocking cookies does not affect reading.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Write to hello@goodstandingmedia.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The site is not written for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

When this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and earlier versions are kept on file.
